August Consulting congratulates Business Times on its 40th anniversary

As part of its 40th anniversary, The Business Times hosted a dinner for present and past BTers on 1 October 2016 – including many from the first batch of staffers who joined the newspaper on 1 October 1976.

Current BT Editor, Alvin Tay, took the audience through the 40-year journey in a slide presentation – which brought back a lot of fond memories in the BT newsroom over the years.

Roy Mackie, who was the second Editor of the paper in the 1980s told of a certain Wall Street Journal “expert” who told him BT could not last 5 years! Well, he has been proven dead wrong – BT today is the leading business newspaper in Singapore.

August Consulting’s Managing Director, Alan Lee, who was with the Business Times for 11 years, said “I was proud to have been associated with BT for 11 years (1981 to 1991) – as the papers Companies Editor, supervising a team of financial journalists which covered extensively the corporate and stock market activities in Singapore and the region.”

“Congratulations again BT on your 40th anniversary and here’s wishing another 40 years of success.”
